My first gallery showing at Pan American Art Projects

I’ve always dreamed of becoming an artist. Ever since I was young I’ve used art and creativity as an emotional outlet and I’ve always wanted to find a way to share that with the world.

I started with conceptual photography and transitioned into performance art I could create and share through all the new social media platforms.

But it was almost eight years ago now that I began to create large-scale, abstract paintings using a mop and bucket.

I’ve always been drawn to abstract painting. But when decorating my own home I could not find exactly what I was looking for… so I made my own.

I found great pleasure and freedom in creating these large scale pieces and made more for people interested locally. Slowly the interest grew and I found myself building a business as a painter.

I know that I’ve always been an artist. You don’t need fame or millions in sales to affirm your creativity and ability. But something about standing in the middle of a gallery displaying my work set off this beautiful feeling inside of me.

It felt as if I had achieved some major milestone in my journey to achieve my dream. Bigger than the happiness of my first commissioned sale, and different from the success I saw when I was expressing my emotions from behind a camera lens.

I wanted to share this with you because my success has been over a decade in the making and I’m really proud of where all my hard work and struggle has brought me today.

My success didn’t come quickly and I want you to know that if you’re still struggling… please  keep painting, keep writing, and keep molding your clay.

Sculpt your bronze, take your photos, and keep moving forward. Never stop expressing yourself through your artwork. Because someday you’ll find yourself where I am today!

I’m rooting for you!
